The West Gate project involved a comprehensive whole-house renovation aimed at modernizing the space while allowing for simplicity in design. The goal was to create a versatile and contemporary home environment that could be easily customized by the clients. The renovation included creating an open concept by removing walls, adding a walk-in pantry, updating bathrooms, and developing a downstairs living area for potential future renters. The basement was enhanced with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living area, home gym, and a dry sauna for added luxury.

Design and Renovation Process

The renovation focused on updating the entire home to achieve a modern, open-concept layout. Key features included:

• Open Concept: Walls were removed to create a fluid, open living space.
• Walk-In Pantry: A new pantry area was added off the kitchen for convenience.
• Basement Conversion: The basement was transformed into a multi-functional space with a new kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living area, and home gym, complete with a dry sauna.
• Modern Fixtures: The bathrooms were updated with modern fixtures, including a walk-in shower, standalone tub, and heated flooring.
• Custom Millwork: Upstairs, custom millwork cabinets and stainless steel appliances were added to the kitchen and pantry.
• Updated Bathrooms: The upstairs bathroom was refreshed with tiled floors and a walk-in shower.

• Framing: Gauthier Builders handled the structural changes, including wall removals and framing for the new layout.
• Finishing: Clearview Builders executed the finishing work, including detailing and final touches.
• Cabinetry: Two30Nine supplied custom cabinetry for the kitchen and pantry.
• Bathroom Fixtures: The Ensuite provided fixtures for the upstairs bathroom, while GreenSlade supplied fixtures for the basement bathroom.
• Bathroom Vanity and Mirror: The Vanity Store and The Ensuite supplied the vanity and mirror for the basement bathroom.
• Countertops: FloForm and Western Marble provided countertops for the kitchen and bathrooms.
• Flooring: WM Dycks installed new flooring throughout the home.
• Painting: A & H handled the painting, ensuring a fresh and cohesive look.
• Windows: Green Brand supplied new windows, enhancing the home’s aesthetics and energy efficiency.
• Electrical: LD managed the electrical work, ensuring safe and functional installations.
• Lighting Fixtures: Robinson Lighting provided modern lighting fixtures to complement the updated design.
• Plumbing and Mechanical: Shortys Plumbing handled the plumbing and mechanical systems.
